In Vessels, Gasser assembles images drawn from science fiction films produced over the past fifty years. Focusing on motherships, hovering spacecraft, and other monumental structures suspended in the sky, the work constitutes an ever-evolving research archive. At the same time, it serves as preparatory work for a video of the same title, in which scenes featuring spacecraft are edited into a continuous sequence.
