TAKIZAWA, Hiroshi
The Scene (Berlin)
A booklet published on the occasion of the artist’s exhibition The Scene (Berlin) at rin art association in 2020: through the layout, notably the addition of tipped-in, 4-colour reproductions of Takizawa’s photographs on top of b&w documentation of the installation, the publication aims at recreating the spatial experience of the work.
In the artist’s The Scene (Berlin) photo series, large prints combine a scanned motif and a second image appearing in a mirror; other works in the book are Mood of the Statue, sculptural works in which a torn print is glued on a concrete slab; and Tears, a movie conceived as an homage to Man Ray.
The book also comprises an essay by art critic Takuya Nakao.
