The Joy Lab. That’s what we call it. It’s our party on the roof of the multi-story building in the mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles where I’m living. The them of our conversation is suburban life in the 1950’s or the myth of a peaceful life in the jungle.

A new performance / theatre script by US artist William Leavitt! Living under the control of a “disturbed algorithm,” a group of inhabitants of an LA building are forced to rehearse the scenes of a film noir he/she/it invented.

Édition bilingue – français et anglais – d’une pièce inédite de l’artist William Leavitt! Sadie, Greg, Ron, Rosa, Gary, etc., vivant sous les contraintes d’un « algorithme dérangé », ont l’habitude de se réunir sur le toit de leur immeuble de LA, pour des soirées qu’iels appellent « Joy Lab ». L’algo se sert de leurs soirées pour leur répéter les scènes d’un film noir de son « invention »…
