A publication put together as a result of a series of meetings held between female artists living in New York, Amsterdam and Berlin in 2010-2011. These meetings were organized under the title “A conversation to know if there is a conversation to be had.” The articles and interviews are therefore meant as provisional efforts to define a multifarious discursive realm. This issue Labour deals specifically with questions of production, and addresses pertinent problems surrounding the figure of the (feminized) artist as producer. [publishers’ note]
