John Miller: Contradicting Statements

Contradicting Statements is a video made by John Miller in 1977, while a student between the California Institute of the Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design. Here this early work – that was shown again in 2018 – is translated into the book format through video stills and transcripts of the spoken text; it is accompanied by a text by the artist, recounting the circumstances of its making and his art education, and an essay by Melanie Ohnemus.
