Iliazd by Rab-Rab Press
2 June 2023 07:00PM

Launch of bie bao series dedicated to militant zaum investigations of Ilya Zdanevich – Iliazd, published by Rab-Rab Press.

Ilya Zdanevich was a poet, designer, typographer, theoretician, and publisher who developed a new philosophy and methodology from zaum (trans-sense) experiments. The series covers many layers of Iliazd’s rich theoretical and artistic output. Each volume consists of a bio-bibliographical introduction, a commentary, a translation with annotations, and an artistic intervention.

The editor of the series, Sezgin Boynik will be in conversation with Mica Gherghescu from the Kandinsky Library – where Iliazd’s archive is kep. Sezgin will talk about the contemporary relevance of Iliazd’s zaum experiments, and introduce Rab-Rab Press’ other projects actualising the experimental ideas of communism as a way of looking forward into the world emancipated from nationalist particularisms and artistic conservatism. This will be the first Paris presentation of Rab-Rab Press, an independent publishing platform based in Helsinki, combining experimental art and leftist politics with scholarly rigour and punk attitude.
