We are very happy to host Odile Cisneros, to celebrate the first english translation of Galaxiàs.
Galaxiàs is a work of 21 years made by Haroldo do Campos, in-between prose and poetry, an audiovideotext and a videotextgame, a kaleidoscop full of mini-stories, a linguistic odyssey across time and space, from Homer’s ancient Greece to the 1950s Beat Poets.
Haroldo do Campos is a key figure for experimental text in Brazil and worldwide, through his own experimental prose work, but also with his activities as a publisher, a critic (with the periodical Noigrandes he founded with his brother) and a translator of poetry which situated him as a polyglot poet.
Galaxiàs was translated by Odile Cisneros, with Suzanne Jill Levine, Charles Perrone, Christopher Middleton, Norman Maurice Potter and is published by Ugly Duckling Presse.
